Readers are to authors as students are to teachers. This is called a syllogism (I think). At any rate, it’s some sort of logic thing and frequently turns up on education tests with a blank in the space of one of those for nouns. It’s also some sort of mathematical thing. Can’t believe that popped into my head yesterday when I began writing this blog post.
However, it is true of both groups. Teachers have no purpose without students and authors are lost without someone to read their work.
RomCon, which I attended last weekend is a chance to say thanks to all those readers who give us purpose. It’s a giant 3-day party with games, food, dance, swag, entertainment, laughter, chances to win books, and lovely chats. This was my second time for the Colorado event, and this year I had two published books. Last year the first one hadn’t come out yet. Still everyone treated me like I was special. 
That’s why I returned and encouraged 5 other NTRWA (my local writing chapter) members to go along. We all had a great time. I’ve got pictures and comments about them.

Molly Cannon, another NTRWA member on her way to the Dancing through the Decades Event. She was at book signing, but I never got her picture. Another member, I didn’t get a picture of was Sophie Oak. She gave a great keynote luncheon speech that left our table in tears.
I participated in Mimosa Madness with these lovely authors: Jerrie Alexander, Anne Marie Becker, Elizabeth Essex, Tiffine Helmer, Barbara Lohr, Sandy Loyd, and Cate Rowan. Here are some pics of that event. (It did include Mimosas for sipping!) First pic below, we’d just presented the bag of books to our second place winner, Elena Colli. Heather Graham, NYT Best Selling Author, stopped by Mimosa Madness, and I had a lovely chat with her. She even took a gift card for my VERMONT ESCAPE! I had a total FAN MOMENT! LOL One of the coolest things about authors is even the biggest names are the nicest people. Here we are:
